Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), has appointed Felix Hyat, former Minister of State for Aviation, as director-general of his campaign council for the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Anthony Ehilebo, the governor’s special adviser on media and digital communication, said as director-general of the national campaign management committee (NCMC) of the Makinde/Daura presidential campaign organisation, Hyat, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna, would lead efforts to take the “reset Nigeria” message to Nigerians.
Makinde also appointed Inna Ciroma, former minister of women affairs, as deputy director-general (administration), and Anthony Aziegbemi as deputy director-general (operations).
“The appointments bring together extensive experience in political strategy, administration and mobilisation. Hyat’s decades of public service and wide political network, alongside the experience of Ciroma and Aziegbemi, will strengthen the campaign’s organisation and engagement across the country,” the statement reads.
Ehilebo said the campaign leadership will work with Bala Mohammed, the party’s national leader and governor of Bauchi, Yusuf Dantalle, the APM national chairman, and other party leaders to “build a coordinated national campaign”.
The APM presidential candidate also appointed other members into the campaign team, including Hamza Koshe (director, contact and mobilisation), Mark Jacob (director, legal and compliance), Ade Adeagbo (director, administration and strategy), Richard Ihediwa (director, strategic communications), and Yusuf Alkali (director, finance).
Others are Emmanuel Dennis (director, volunteers, special interests and support groups), Suleiman Kankia (director, security and intelligence), Toyin Balogun (director, women coordination), Umar Ndabrama (director, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and documentation), Armstrong Adah (director, youth coordination), Adeyemi Moyegun (director, organisation and coordination), and Babangida John (deputy director, security and intelligence).
Makinde asked APM members and supporters who believe in the reset Nigeria vision to remain steadfast and work together towards victory in the 2027 general election.
