Manor Lords has crossed four million copies sold across all platforms, developer Slavic Magic and publisher Hooded Horse have announced. The news also comes alongside the release of the game’s next major update. The update features an expanded cow economy for pastures, alongside allowing apples to make ciders, another method to producing alcohol for your settlement improvements. In addition, a 35% discount is also running on Steam until September 10th to mark the milestone.

The new update adds a substantial amount of content fro those managing their town economies and production years in advance.

Cow herding is now in the game, with players able to breed and import bovine livestock. Oats have been added as an easy-to-grow crop that can feed both humans and animals, helping that cow management too. Cheesemongers is now an extension role, allowing your settlements to make cheese from the cow’s your now milking.

Apples can now be brewed into cider, honey into mead. So, it’s worth getting some orchards built early on in your settlements as away to manage your alcohol needs, especially if you lack the ability to make barley. That’s thanks to fertility in regions often being poor.

A new river map called Wide Valley has also been added, described as a verdant region ripe for lording over.

That’s part of the reason why Manor Lords is getting a big discount, helping players come in and feel an expanded economy update.

The four million sales figure for Manor Lords is also a massive figure. The game has consistently performed well since launch, albeit lacking significant updates at times. But, updates are coming out much more hastily, with pretty big changes too. Hence why the game has continues to do so well.

Manor Lords is available in Early Access on PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, priced at $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99. It is also available on PC Game Pass. The 35% discount runs until September 10th, making this a good window to pick it up if you have been sitting on the fence. It’s had a few big Steam sales recently.
