CALAPAN CITY — Inflation in the Mimaropa region accelerated to 5.4 percent in August, up from 5.3 percent in July and sharply higher than the 1.2 percent recorded a year earlier, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said. Regional Director Leni R. Rioflorido said Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels posted a 6.9-percent inflation rate in August, up from 6.1 percent in July.
