Hello! Currently living in a student apartment with my boyfriend and cat, and i need help on optimizing the layout!
I can't buy any new furniture, just looking for tips on how to move the existing furniture to make it feel a bit better.
I feel like my desk in the main area feels off and I feel the constant need to sit angled to watch the door since my back is turned completely when im working. I also feel like im not using the weird angle next to it well. I was thinking i could turn the desk to the wall next to it but don't like the idea of being turned to the window and I really like having natural light near me to focus. I don't want to be right next to the kitchen but if it works better then I am willing to try it. I put the kallax upright to block the door view but I haven't unpacked my stuff so maybe that's why i feel like I don't have privacy?
I really like the dining table like this so me and my bf can watch outside as we eat but it doesn't allow for others if we have company.
I love my coffee table but since its quite big it feels like a big obstacle in its position and the sofa feels cozy in that spot but we barely use it.
The bedroom layout is less important but the main thing is my bf wants his desk in a way so he can have privacy, but if I'm on the bed I can see everything, so it's not ideal.
The scale of the furniture is quite approximate but I think it looks about as proportionate as i can make it.
We're also on the ground floor and have our own little patch of grass, so i guess its not my biggest concern that someone can see inside since a bush wall kind of covers it.
I feel like this space is quite tricky, does anyone have any ideas?
