Oh my… just another neighbor thinking they can do whatever they want.
Halloween is the time of year when people can go all out with decorations. Depending on the neighborhood, the more decorations, the better, and even some homeowners start competing with their neighbors to see who has the most decorated house. Front yards stop being nice gardens and become full stages stuffed with decorations, and for the people who aren't into decorating, walking those streets feels like being inside a movie.
I'm not going to lie: I'm one of those folks who hate decorating but are the first to pay for a walking tour to see how people decorate for Halloween. So I can't blame the neighbor in this story for deciding to turn it into a little business. He saw that his neighbors were going all out with Halloween decorations, so he hosted paid walking tours… with the homeowners' permission.
In my hometown, decorating isn't that big a deal, except for two houses that take it very seriously. I'm not talking about some random lights on the lawn: I mean inflatable skeletons, ghosts, sound, and a vapor machine… Suddenly, their home is a haunted house, and sometimes I've been scared of walking by it at night.
Anyway, they love it when people stop by and take pictures from the sidewalk. Some tourists have even rung the bell to congratulate them, and they even appeared on the local news! Such a proud moment for them. Now, tourist are always outside their yard: not inside it, touching things and taking pictures. Trespassing is illegal, even on Halloween.
