I have ~4 YOE as an Android dev at a big bank. Non-STEM undergrad, and most of my experience has been front-end/UI work: Kotlin, XML, Compose, MVVM/MVI, coroutines/Flow, testing, accessibility, analytics, etc.
With AI changing software development, what would you focus on if you were in my position and wanted to move toward senior roles?
For interviews, what actually matters most now: LeetCode/DSA, Android-specific knowledge, Kotlin/coroutines, system design, projects, behavioral?
And career-wise, would you go deeper into Android, learn backend/full-stack, focus on CS fundamentals/system design, or something else?
Main goal is to become a stronger well-rounded SWE and not get stuck as just an Android UI developer and get ready for applying to new opportunities
