Mine does, and apparently so do a lot of other people's cats too! It's not weird to see them sitting or napping in the most uncomfortable places. We just stand there, baffled, thinking: "how did it get there?" "Is that even comfortable?" "How does it reach those angles?" Now, why do they do that? We have no idea. Maybe they just get bored of their own bodies and want to spice things up a bit and try to see how much they can stretch, twist, and tangle. In the meantime, us hoomans just stand here, being unable to touch our own toes. There's no flexibility here; our cats took all that was available. We're just worried that they might hurt themselves at some point, but that hasn't happened yet, so we can't get paranoid. Besides, they always fall on their feet. That's got to count for something.
Cats seem to behave like liquids sometimes. They forget they have bones and muscles and just act like they are made of little more than Jell-O. They manage to fit into places they definitely shouldn't fit, and it's both scary and amazing. We sure would take advantage of that skill when we have to take the subway for work, and it's as packed as a can of sardines. As always, we have to admit that we're actually just jealous of them and their feline skills.
There was actually a scientist who thought this was really interesting and did a whole investigation on cats and their liquid behavior. He confirmed it: cats act like liquids and are able to adapt to the form or whatever bowl they're trying to fit into. The man even won awards for it. Really, he fulfilled our lifelong dream: to get famous and win awards just for talking about cats.
Let's face it, most of us are not getting close to winning any kind of award any time soon. But what we are close to doing is having a jolly good laugh! These photos are perfect for laughing and getting surprised at all cats' ability to bend and stretch in the weirdest of angles.
