No, you're not having déjà vu: Amazon did just have a big sale in July. This time, though, it's their fall sale—Prime Big Deal Days, better known as October Prime Day. The sale is officially underway from Oct. 6-7, but there have been an abundance of early sales, and we're all over it. Remember to check price tracking tools so you can trust that the sales we're talking about are actually good deals, and not just hype.

Remember, you need to be a Prime Member to have access to all of Amazon's Prime Day deals and to get free shipping. Prime membership starts at $14.99 per month ($139 per year) and comes with more benefits than people think. It's easy to figure out if a yearly Prime membership is worth it for you, but remember, you can always cancel your Prime membership once the sale is over, as Amazon offers free 30-day trials. In theory, you can shop the whole event and still have time to cancel before you get charged.

For a glimpse at the best deals as we find them, check out our live blog of the event below, which features the Lifehacker team's coverage of Prime Day. We'll continue highlighting new deals as we find them. Our sister brands have live blogs worth checking out too, including CNET, PCMag, ZDNET, and Mashable.
