This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL was purchased new by the seller in New Mexico and was repainted its factory shade of Horizon Blue approximately a decade ago. The car is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a blue soft top, a removable hardtop, power steering, 14″ steel wheels with painted hubcaps, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. This W113 SL was featured in the March 2017 issue of Pagoda World magazine and is now offered with a data card, the owner’s manual, a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.

The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. This example is finished in Horizon Blue (304), and the seller sates that it received a bare-metal repaint c.2016. Replacement rubber seals were installed at that time, and the car is equipped with a blue soft top, a removable hardtop, a retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, and US-specification headlights. The seller notes that the left front fender was replaced in the 1970s and the soft top has not been used in several years.

The 14″ steel wheels feature hubcaps with painted centers and chrome trim rings, and they are mounted with 195/75R14 Hankook tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in blue MB-Tex, and replacement door panels were installed several years ago. A replacement dash pad was also fitted, and interior appointments include a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, an analog clock, a floor-mounted gear shifter, and a heater. The seller notes that the clock does not keep good time.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles. A replacement turn signal switch was installed around 2021.

The 2.3-liter M127 inline-six was factory equipped with Bosch fuel injection. A replacement fuel tank was installed over ten years ago.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
