Pedri has joined an elite group of Barcelona players after making his 250th appearance for the club against Feyenoord in the opening match of the 2026–27 Champions League.
The midfielder reached the landmark at just 23 years and 288 days old, making him the second-youngest player in Barcelona history to reach 250 first-team appearances.
As such, only Lionel Messi achieved the feat at a younger age.
Pedri comes close to Messi’s historic markAccording to figures provided by Mundo Deportivo, Messi was 23 years and 241 days old when he made his 250th Barcelona appearance on 20 February 2011.
That means Pedri was exactly 47 days older when he reached the same figure against Feyenoord.

Messi’s 250th outing came in a 2–1 La Liga victory over Athletic Club at Camp Nou, and more than 15 years later, Pedri has reached the milestone almost as quickly.
Notably, the players immediately behind the pair are equally distinguished.
Legendary midfielder and former manager Xavi reached 250 appearances at 24 years and 99 days, followed by Andres Iniesta at 24 years and 253 days and Sergio Busquets at 25 years and 96 days.
Seventh season brings another major landmarkIt must be remembered that Pedri reached 250 Barcelona appearances during his seventh season with the club.
Messi took slightly longer to reach the number, although the comparison needs some context.

During his first competitive season in 2004–05, the Argentine played very few matches, meaning the pair were effectively operating at a similar pace once their careers were established.
Pedri also has a personal connection to Messi that few current Barcelona players can claim.
The midfielder played alongside the Argentine during his first season at the club, the 2020–21 campaign, that proved to be Messi’s final year in Barcelona colours.
For now, Pedri’s next challenge is considerably more difficult: closing the enormous gap to Messi, who remains Barcelona’s record holder for official appearances.
