The Philippine content creation landscape is likely to gear towards community-driven monetization over the next three years, according to local fintech company Eplayment, which said its PIXEL platform is positioned to make fund settlement more accessible to creators.
“I think (it gears towards) the monetization of the community they build, regardless of what type of content they produce,” Karlos R. Naidas, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Eplayment, said in an interview during the PIXEL Experience event on Tuesday.
“More of the monetization is there, not that much on ad revenue, it’s more on the community building,” he added in a mix of English and Filipino.
Community monetization, also known as fan funding, allows content creators to earn directly from the communities that support their work through contributions, memberships, subscriptions and other forms of financial support.
According to Market Sense Analytics, a data-driven market intelligence platform, the global creator monetization platform market is projected to grow to $29.07 billion by 2030 from $11.57 billion in 2025.
The Asia-Pacific region, where the Philippines is located, is the market’s fastest-growing region, with an annual growth rate of 22.1% through 2033.
Eplayment’s PIXEL is one of the emerging monetization platforms for content creators and communities in the Philippines. It has 15,000 active creators, the majority of whom are based in the country, Mr. Naidas said. He added that the company seeks to at least maintain its current number of creators by the end of the year.
The platform is also growing at a double-digit rate to-date, compared with the same period last year, Let Perez, PIXEL product owner, said.
“2026 is such a huge milestone for PIXEL. The growth is really crazy,” Ms. Perez told reporters during the event.
Amid projected growth in community-driven monetization, Mr. Naidas said PIXEL is differentiating itself by ensuring that the settlement of funds is done in real time.
“So, when the content creator gets paid on the platform, he or she can just use and withdraw the funds real-time. So, that’s one major pain point we want to address,” he said. “Even as low as ten pesos, or as high as they can raise with the platform, they can have easy access.”
Mr. Naidas also said the platform earns by taking a percentage of all transactions made within the platform.
Moving forward, PIXEL will continue to position itself as a platform where content creators can easily monetize their communities and passions, he said. — Edg Adrian A. Eva
