This Porsche 356 Speedster replica is said to have been assembled by JPS Motorsports of San Marcos, California, in 2019 and was sold on BaT in September 2022. The car is finished in black over tan leather and is powered by a 2,332cc flat-four mated with a Rancho Performance four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a black soft top, Empi 44 HPMX carburetors, a lightweight flywheel, four-wheel disc brakes, 15” wheels, a custom exhaust system, fixed-back bucket seats, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, a Vintage Speed shifter, and a MOMO steering wheel. This 356 Speedster replica is offered on dealer consignment by WOB Cars, a BaT Local Partner, with a California title describing the car as a special construction.
The fiberglass body is finished in black and mounted on a tubular-steel chassis. Exterior details include a black soft top, a tan top boot, body-color bumpers, dual fender-mounted mirrors, gold-tone badging, and mesh headlight grilles.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels with bright hubcaps wear 185/65 Sentury Touring tires. The car is equipped with the JPS Motorsports Handling Package, a front sway bar, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The fixed-back bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather and are accompanied by a color-coordinated upper dashboard pad and door panels. The air-cooled 2,332cc flat-four was reportedly built by Gervais Engines and breathes through dual Empi 44 HPMX carburetors. Additional features include an 8:1 compression ratio, an AS41 engine case, an 82mm crankshaft, Eagle rods, a Scat C35 camshaft, and cylinder heads with 40×35.5mm valves as well as billet aluminum lifters, a lightweight flywheel, and a 36mm chromoly gland nut. Service in November 2025 consisted of changing the oil and replacing the starter, ignition switch, and battery hold-down.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Rancho Performance four-speed manual transaxle with a 3.88:1 final-drive ratio. A custom exhaust system was reportedly fabricated by A1 Muffler in Santa Ana, California.
The data plate mounted in the front trunk shows serial number S18JPC0026ATSP, which matches the VIN on the California SB-100 BAR sticker, viewable in the gallery.
