A playable Mr. Records demo is now available on Steam, and the rhythm adventure has picked up two new confirmed platforms in the process. Wired Productions announced that Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions are joining the previously confirmed PC and Nintendo Switch 2 releases, with the full game still aiming for a broad 2027 window.

Mr. Records was first shown during Summer Game Fest 2026’s Day of the Devs, developed by Glee Cheese, the studio behind Headbangers: Rhythm Royale and A Musical Story, and published by Wired Productions. Similar to how Nights of Nil recently got its own free Steam demo ahead of a confirmed release, Mr. Records is using its early build to build wishlists before the fall rush of demos hits.

The game follows George, an elderly record shop keeper who spends his days running the store, chatting with customers, and helping them find the right album. Once the shop closes, George’s imagination takes over: dropping into records sends him into rhythm-driven platforming stages where every run, jump, and slide has to land on the beat.

What’s in the Demo

The current build covers the opening of George’s story, including the moment he first opens his record store. Matching the beat during platforming sections chains actions together and fuels George’s abilities, and the demo folds in the game’s secondary gameplay hooks too, from minigames and chase sequences to visual shifts and missions with his dog, Buzz.

It’s a similar early-access strategy to the one behind Flask’s first playable Steam demo, getting a slice of the full experience into players’ hands well before the festival crowds arrive. The full release is also promising shop management with quirky customers, tender story beats, and original music spanning multiple genres, all handled by the development team.

Platforms and Timing

The demo is live on Steam roughly a month ahead of the fall Steam Next Fest, which runs from October 19 through October 26. That gives anyone curious plenty of runway to try it before that event’s usual glut of new demos arrives, much like how Enshrouded locked in its own PS5 and Xbox release date well ahead of launch.
