Emotions appeared to get the better of Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson on Monday night after the Buffalo Bills won their matchup 37-34 in overtime.

Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb appeared to say something to Jackson as the lineman was taking his pads off. As Chubb was talking to other Rams players at midfield, Jackson walked up to the defender and punched him in the face.

"It's just emotions, you know what I mean? Emotional game. It was a close game," Chubb told the California Post after the game. "And, you know, they always catch the second guy. So, I let him swing. And then my teammates held me back, and I just chilled."

Chubb was being pulled off the field by a teammate before things could escalate further.

"Like I said, it was (an) emotional game. Tempers got flared," he added. "But it is what it is. We flushed it and we onto next week."

Chubb said he was fine and was going to get ready for Week 6.

Jackson didn’t appear to address the incident. He’s likely facing a suspension because of the altercation.

Bills and Rams players were coming off what many believed to be the game of the year so far. The two teams combined for 35 points in the fourth quarter. Rams running back Kyren Williams scored on a 1-yard rush to tie the game with five seconds left.

Buffalo won the game on a Tyler Bass 45-yard field goal with 1:55 left to go in overtime.

The Bills improved to 4-1 on the year. Los Angeles fell to 2-3.
