Reese Witherspoon is getting all the help she needs to make the ultimate power move in Hollywood. The actor is buying back her production company, Hello Sunshine, through a partnership with French media group Mediawan.
According to Variety, the deal brings the actress and producer back into the company she founded in 2016, which will add another major Hollywood production banner to Mediawan’s growing portfolio. Mediawan recently acquired Brad Pitt’s Plan B.
Witherspoon will invest alongside Mediawan and work with its leadership, including CEO Pierre-Antoine Capton. Hello Sunshine co-founder Seth Rodsky will also join the company’s board alongside Witherspoon and Mediawan representatives.
The agreement marks a new chapter for the production company, which previously became part of Candle Media after its acquisition. In the past, Hello Sunshine has built a slate of film and television projects, including Big Little Lies, The Morning Show, Little Fires Everywhere, and Daisy Jones & The Six.

Mediawan’s portfolio also includes Kinetic Content, Wiedemann & Berg, Palomar, Our Films, Drama Republic, Chapter2, and Chi-Fou-Mi. Its projects span several genres and markets, with credits including F1, Backrooms, Slow Horses, Call My Agent!, Love Is Blind, and The Greatest Showman.
Mediawan CEO Pierre-Antoine Capton said Hello Sunshine brings a strong creative identity and a direct connection with audiences.

Witherspoon thanked Candle Media and Blackstone for their support. Hello Sunshine launched with backing from Peter Chernin and Jesse Jacobs through The Chernin Group.
