Part of what makes Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy appealing is its stand-alone story. While Asobo Studio's new spin-off game stars Sophia, a character introduced in 2022's Requiem, the narrative is set years before that game and bears little connection to it. Unraveling Sophia's origins in an entirely new story, accompanied by a focus on action combat, makes for a perfect entry for newcomers who have no familiarity with past Plague Tale games. While this could easily be a one-and-done experience, a post-credits scene changes how important Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is to the series' future.
