Rockstar has emerged to finally speak about the recent GTA VI leaks appearing over the last week. The team acknowledged that the marketing has taken some time to let players see more of the game, coming after one leaker published several small clips of gameplay.

It is somewhat reminiscent of the original 2022 leaks, where Rockstar had to acknowledge that GTA VI was indeed in development, and that it was not how they wanted to announce the next instalment in the franchise.

The post comes the day before the Netflix and GTA VI extended look, airing exclusively on Netflix for a six-hour window. The extended look is not your usual quick trailer. It will reveal gameplay, features and take an actual look at the game. It will likely include a mission, city exploration, some combat and other classic GTA moments tied into the storyline.

That is partly why Rockstar has finally commented publicly. The leaks have ranged from areas of the map showing off some impressive attention to detail, among other things. Some of you may have already had that wow moment spoiled. Others might experience it for the first time tomorrow.

In the background, Rockstar has begun tracing where the leaks are coming from, getting in contact with Microsoft and Discord to help track them through social channels.

It also comes as Rockstar cited the dismissal of several British employees for sharing leaks in a third-party trade union Discord last year. So, it’s something that Rockstar has been dealing with for a long while. That includes the other hacker group in April, that leaked GTA Online makes a lot of money. Shocker, I know.
