The Kansas City Royals have parted ways with a former Silver Slugger Award-winning third baseman who has 10 years of Major League experience.
The 34-year-old signed a minor league deal with the Royals during the offseason and last played for the Los Angeles Angels in 2024.
According to the MLB transaction log, the Royals have released Brandon Drury.
Drury didn't have much success at the plate in Triple-A with the Royals, hitting .226/.354/.362 in 212 plate appearances.
It's been a few years since Drury played a full season in the Majors. He hit 26 home runs in 125 games with the Los Angeles Angels just two seasons ago.

In 2022 with the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds, Drury hit a career-high 28 homers and posted a career-high .813 OPS.
Another club can show interest in Drury, but the minor league season is nearing its end, and he would be ineligible for the postseason if he landed an MLB deal.
Due to a handful of injuries, Drury has played over 100 games in just five of his 10 MLB seasons.
