Ryan Gosling could reunite with Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn for a new comedy movie. The filmmaker revealed that he and Gosling are exploring ideas for their third collaboration. However, the project does not yet have a production date or concrete plan.
Refn revealed the news while speaking with France 24 at the Deauville American Film Festival. He said he and Gosling have stayed in touch as their lives have evolved “in parallel ways.” The director also described their potential next film as a “comedy.”
There is a catch, though. Refn played coy when asked about when the film could happen. He compared the uncertainty surrounding the project to Christmas, saying, “It’s better not knowing what you’re going to get ’cause then you’re going to be a lot happier.”
Gosling and Refn also have other commitments, so their comedy project remains in the idea stage rather than active production.
