Walmart has a better deal than Amazon on a prebuilt PC that excels at 1440p gaming. The Skytech Harpy gaming PC with AMD Ryzen X3D CPU and GeForce RTX 5070 GPU has dropped to $1,799 with free shipping after a $500 off discount. This is a well-equipped prebuilt that pairs a capable CPU and GPU with healthy dose of RAM and storage.

Skytech Harpy Ryzen X3D Edition RTX 5070 Gaming PC for $1799

The Skytech Harpy gaming PC is equipped with a liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GPU, 32GB of DDR5-6000MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is still one of the best gaming CPUs

The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is an 8-core, 16-thread CPU with a boost clock of 5GHz. Although it has been succeeded by the newer 9000X3D series of processors, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D still maintains its reputation as an all-star gaming CPU. The secret to its gaming performance is the inclusion of 3D-V-Cache technology, which is only found in the X3D CPUs. According to Passmark, the 7800X3D's gaming performance surpasses that of the newer Intel Core Ultra 7 265K. The 7800X3D also consumes less power and produces less heat than the 9800X3D. Temps are effectively managed by a robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling system.

The GeForce RTX 5070 GPU is an excellent choice for 1080p or 1440p gaming

The GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card is the Nvidia card I'd recommend for 1080p and 1440p gaming. It's also powerful enough to run most games at 4K, although at that point you'll see noticeable gains jumping up to a 5070 Ti. Compared to the previous generation GPUs, the RTX 5070 offers a slight performance improvement over the RTX 4070 Super, which was and still is an excellent GPU. The fps gain is greater in games that support DLSS 4.5 with multi-frame generation. The least expensive standalone 5070 card right now is $800 on Amazon.
