The Seattle Seahawks have announced their captains for their Week 1 kick off against the New England Patriots. Unlike most teams in the NFL, Seattle does not select season-long captains for their team. Instead, they have a weekly rotation, where each game will feature a new group of captains.
On Monday evening, the Seahawks revealed who their inaugural captains for the first week of the season will be:
- Sam Darnold, quarterback
- Ernest Jones IV, linebacker
- Brady Russell, fullback
- Leonard Williams, defensive line
This announcement was made on their official social media accounts.
The Seattle Seahawks will host the New England Patriots at Lumen Field this Wednesday night at 5:20 pm, and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBC. As usual, the reigning Super Bowl champion will get to kick off the new season in a nationally televised standalone game. This will be the first game in a decade where it will feature a Super Bowl rematch.
We at Seahawks Wire will update weekly on the newly selected captains for each game.
