IndiaAIFounders — Series Where the "Smart People" Are/Aren't Dumbed Down for the Sake of Plot?

I'm watching The Blacklist for the first time right now, and in every single episode I find myself thinking "wow, the FBI is useless against literally everyone".

It got me thinking about other shows I've watched where the "smart good guys" were made to come off as inept in order to make their counterparts or criminals look smart in comparison, and Dexter, The Flash/Arrow, Madam Secretary, The Boys, and a whole bunch of others came to mind.

I think House is a good example of a show that does this right though, because while his fellows aren't nearly as smart as he is, they're still really smart characters. Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad, The Wire, Succession, Mr. Robot, and Mindhunter all come to mind as good examples too.

What are some of the most egregious examples of writing making smart people dumb to make other people seem smarter though, or shows that subvert it completely?
