In 2024 and 2025, Kia won back-to-back World Car of the Year awards with two electric vehicles. The first was the EV9, the second model in Kia’s EV line after the EV6. Serving as the brand’s electrified flagship, it introduced core technologies and design elements that would trickle down to the rest of the range over the next few years.

Then came the Kia EV3, which debuted in 2024 and became World Car of the Year in 2025. The Korean carmaker calls it ‘the most accessible’ model to win the title, featuring the EV9’s styling and innovations in a more compact and affordable package.

It’s now the latest model to join the Kia Philippines stable, joining the EV5 and the Sportage as the brand’s 2026 releases so far in the local market. If you want to learn more about this new fully electric offering, read on for the full specs and details.

Variants and prices of the Kia EV3 2027

The model debuts in the Philippines with just one variant: the Kia EV3 GL, priced at P1,898,000. That pits it against other electric compact crossovers like the BYD Atto 3, which ranges from P1,638,000 to P1,848,000, and the Geely EX5 EV, selling for P1,799,000.

Aside from the five-year/160,000km bumper-to-bumper warranty, the EV3 is also covered by an eight-year/160,000km warranty for its EV battery. Kia Philippines also offers 24/7 roadside assistance.

The EV3 obviously takes cues from its bigger siblings, the EV9 and the EV5, but it also channels the spirit of a now-discontinued model: the Kia Soul. Giving it strong road presence are the boxy shape with a sloping roofline and ‘Opposites United’ styling elements, the constellation-inspired Star Map lights, the geometric-pattern 17-inch alloys, and the stark black greenhouse accents and body cladding. Active grille shutters on the front end improve aerodynamics, helping the crossover achieve a drag coefficient of 0.27.

The EV3’s character, however, is more playful than the refined EV9 or the practical EV5. Seven exterior colors are available: Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Shale Gray, Ivory Silver, Frost Blue, Terra Cotta, and Aventurine Green, which is the shade worn by the unit pictured here.

As for dimensions, the EV3 is 4,300mm long, 1,850mm wide, and 1,560mm tall, with a 2,680mm wheelbase. The crossover rides on 215/60 R17 tires and has a ground clearance of 140mm.

The cabin lives up to the playful, offbeat vibe set by the exterior. The Aventurine Green and Terra Cotta paint jobs are matched with a dark blue color scheme that features pale gray and mustard yellow elements, while the rest of the exterior colors are paired with a subtle gray interior accented by cool blue bits.

Kia’s usual ‘30-inch wide screen’ setup occupies most of the dashboard; in reality, it’s made up of two 12-inch displays for the instruments and the main multimedia interface, with a five-inch climate readout in between. All three are under a single panel of glass, giving the impression that they’re one continuous unit. There are shortcut buttons just below the center screen, and a volume scroll wheel in between the center A/C vents. The A/C controls under them are similarly bisected by the hazard button.

Notable Kia executions we’ve seen in the brand’s other models are the squircle steering wheel, the column-mounted gearshift and powertrain on/off button, and the nifty cupholder partitions that can be retracted if you want to use the space for larger items instead of drinks. This part of the center console can be better accessed by retracting the sliding table console in between the front seats; it slides forward or back by 120mm, and contains buttons for auto hold, the rear parking camera, the parking sensors, and hill-descent assist. Finally, the base of the center console has two wireless charging pads and three of the five USB-C ports in the cabin.

The two other USB-C ports are mounted on the sides of each front seat, so they can be more easily reached by those seated in the back. The flat floor opens up legroom for three rear occupants, but just having two would be more comfortable. Aside from the aforementioned USB-C ports, the second row also gets dedicated A/C vents, a large center bin, and a center armrest that can be deployed if there is no middle passenger.

For storage, the rear cargo area has a volume of 460 liters by default. The floor can be lowered for more space, and folding down the rear seats gives a total volume of around 1,250 liters. An additional 25 liters comes courtesy of the frunk as well.

Powertrain specs of the Kia EV5 2027

The EV3 is powered by a single electric motor that puts out 201hp and 283Nm of torque. Battery capacity for the Philippine spec is 58.3kWh, and Kia claims an NEDC range of 511km. AC charging at a rate of up to 11kW yields 10% to 80% in five hours and 20 minutes. Those with access to a 350kW DC charger can top up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes.

Kia Philippines estimates that the EV3 will cost P2.39/km to run, based on prevailing electric rates. Maintenance for the first five years is estimated at 19,400.

Extra features of the Kia EV3 2027

Those two wireless charging pads and five USB-C charging ports deserve to be mentioned again—the EV3 is really geared toward younger owners who are not tech-averse and usually use the latest or at least recent-generation gadgets. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration also come standard, as does Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition.

The Kia DriveWise advanced driver-assist systems are part of the package as well. Included features are advanced smart cruise control; lane-keeping and lane-follow assist; forward, rear cross-traffic, blind-spot, and parking collision avoidance assist; leading vehicle departure alert; autonomous emergency braking; and driver attention, parking distance, and safe-exit warnings. There’s a rearview camera, but no 360-degree view; that’s one obvious cost-cutting measure you’ll see here, but there aren’t many.

Six speakers are standard; some people might expect more given the asking price of just under P1.9 million, but remember that Kia has nixed ADAS and even power seat adjustment for some models’ base variants to lower the price tag. Taken as a whole, the EV3 is a pretty complete package, with all the features that most buyers in this segment could ask for.

What do you think of the Kia EV3? Is it the accessible electric vehicle that Kia claims and wants it to be? Sound off in the comments.
