The latest update about Ahsoka Season 2 has confirmed the appearance of a major character from the Clone Wars. Directed by Dave Filoni, the last season of the series dropped three years ago.
According to a recent update from Empire, Filoni has confirmed the involvement of the Mortis Gods in the upcoming season. He said, “It’s definitely a thing.” The Mortis Gods were initially introduced in the animated series, The Clone Wars. They are presumed to be a trio of Father, Mother, and Son. These mythological figures embody the Force itself.
For a long time now, Ahsoka fans have been speculating about the involvement of the Mortis Gods in the show. And they had some solid reasons to do so. At the end of the first season, Sabine and Ahsoka were shown stranded on the Peridea wastelands. Interestingly, the planet of Peridea has several statues of the ancient Force deities (the Mortis Gods).
What else do we know about Ahsoka Season 2 so far?The official synopsis for Ahsoka Season 2, per Murphy’s Multiverse, reads, “Season 2 continues the story of Ahsoka Tano and her extraordinary journey beyond the known galaxy. As Ahsoka and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren travel across a mysterious and perilous world to find their way home, their friends Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper must face the powerful Grand Admiral Thrawn and his sinister allies, who seek to plunge the New Republic into war.”
While Rosario Dawson will be playing the role of Ahsoka Tano, the season 2 cast also has some new additions. The cast features Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. David Tennant will be voicing the character of Huyang. Hayden Christensen is portraying Anakin Skywalker, and Ariana Greenblatt is coming as Young Ahsoka Tano. Jeryl Prescott Gallien and Jane Edwina Seymour are also starring in the series.
Season 1 concluded with Grand Admiral Thrawn departing Peridea and heading towards Dathomir while Ahsoka and Sabine were left stranded in the distant galaxy. The first season earned a rating of 85% from critics and 64% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ahsoka Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
