Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has advised candidates excluded from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list for the 2027 elections to stop pursuing court cases and instead prepare for future opportunities.
In a post on his X handle Saturday, Sani stressed that the Supreme Court ruling which empowered INEC to drop certain names was unambiguous.
He warned affected candidates against wasting “money, time, and energy fighting a lost battle.”He further appealed to lawyers handling such cases not to exploit the situation:
“I also wish to appeal to those Barristers and SANs to ‘pity’ those candidates and allow them to rest, and not mislead them into spending more money filing fresh suits.”
Encouraging a forward-looking approach, Sani added: “Four years will come and go; let them strategise for the future.”
