Brian Tyree Henry has shared some teasing comments about The Batman Part II. The actor’s words come after director Steven Soderbergh‘s recent entry into the Batman universe to finish principal photography. Production on the highly anticipated sequel had been temporarily paused while primary director Matt Reeves stepped away to deal with a sensitive family matter.
On the Jennifer Hudson Show, he was asked what he could share about the new Batman sequel. Henry replied, “Nothing. Nothing.” He then jokingly said, “I’m Batman,” before clarifying, “No, I’m not Batman.”
Switching to serious mode, Henry then teased top-secret plans tied to DC’s The Batman Part II, offering an intriguing glimpse into the highly anticipated sequel without revealing details.
The actor said, “Uh, no, it’s wonderful. It is one of the most amazing casts. It’s been really thrilling, but it’s so top secret. So, I can’t even, I can’t say anything about it. But it’s going to be amazing. Like, I can tell you that right now.”
He continued, “There’s nothing crazier than being on set, and you’re just looking at Robert Pattinson in a bat suit. You’re just like, ‘Oh, right. Yeah. Hey, what’s up, Rob? How’s everything going today?’ Like, but it’s great. It’s been really wonderful,” he said before adding, “You are not gonna get me in trouble. I can’t say anything about who I am.”
What to know about Brian Tyree Henry’s role in The Batman Part IISo far, Henry’s exact character role in The Batman Part II has not been officially confirmed by director Reeves or Warner Bros., though he is officially a part of the cast.
But that hasn’t stopped the fan speculation, fueled by reports from industry insiders. This includes claims from Jeff Sneider, who stated that Henry is expected to join Reeves’ Batman universe as Harvey Dent, the Gotham City prosecutor who ultimately becomes the villain known as Two-Face.
“I’m told that Brian Tyree Henry will be playing Harvey Dent. He won’t be the first Black actor to play Dent in live-action, as Billy Dee Williams played the character in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie Batman,” he noted. But as of this writing, neither WB nor DC Studios has officially confirmed the casting.
It remains to be seen what Henry will be playing in The Batman Part II, which is scheduled to be released on February 18, 2028.
