The Devil Wears Prada to stream on Netflix next month

Netflix subscribers will soon be able to watch The Devil Wears Prada on the streaming service. According to What’s on Netflix, the 2006 comedy-drama is scheduled to begin streaming on October 1, 2026. The film will arrive on the platform shortly after the release of its long-awaited sequel, which brought the franchise back to theaters earlier this year.

Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, The Devil Wears Prada originally opened in U.S. theaters on June 30, 2006. The film follows Andrea “Andy” Sachs, a recent college graduate who accepts a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the powerful editor of fashion magazine Runway. Andy initially has little knowledge of or interest in the fashion world, but the demanding position requires her to adapt quickly. 

However, as she becomes more successful at her job, the long hours begin to take a toll on her personal life and her relationships with boyfriend and friends. Meryl Streep stars as Miranda Priestly, with Anne Hathaway portraying Andy Sachs. The cast also includes Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling, and Simon Baker as Christian Thompson.

The movie continues to hold a solid position with audiences and critics on Rotten Tomatoes. It has a 75 percent critics score based on 196 reviews, while its audience score stands at 76 percent. The Netflix release follows the return of the franchise with The Devil Wears Prada 2, which hit theaters in May 2026. The sequel became a major box-office success, earning approximately $693 million worldwide during its theatrical run, according to Box Office Mojo.
