The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their return to the United Kingdom six years after leaving.
According to the BBC , Prince Harry, Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, were flown to Britain privately from California on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the royal couple told the BBC that “this is not something we would comment on.”
The Telegraph reported that the family landed in Birmingham around the lunch hour.
The Sussexes will live in a private property outside of London in the Cotswolds area. They will live in Britain as private citizens and will not be returning to official royal duties.
The BBC reported that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have already been enrolled in school and will begin the new term next week.
‘Extended’ U.K. stay
The Sussexes moved to the United States shortly after Prince Archie was born in 2019.
The family moved to Montecito, Calif., setting up shop in a $14-million, nine-bedroom property after stepping back from royal duties. They will still have ownership of the home despite moving out.
Princess Lilibet was born in California in 2021. Before the move back, the royal children had been to the U.K. twice.
In July, the entire Sussex family visited King Charles, a key development in mending the relationship, which had been strained.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes told the New York Times : “On the heels of a wonderful trip with family and friends this summer, Harry and Meghan have decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn.”
Another royal source told the Sunday Times that the Sussexes’ “extended period” back in the U.K. is unknown; however, “Charles is a big reason for their return.”
“It’ll be an extended period of time. It could be six months, it could be a year, it could be more. I don’t think even they know yet,” the insider claimed.
