• An Indonesian builder turned a Suzuki Swift into a Mini Coupe.
  • It features custom bodywork, white wheels, and leatherette interior.
  • The unique vehicle is listed on Facebook Marketplace for $7,200.

Replica builders usually attempt to emulate multi-million-dollar supercars, but every now and then, someone turns their attention to more humble models. A great example is the pictured Mini Coupe impersonator from Indonesia, which started life as a Suzuki Swift.

The unique model is currently offered for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The project draws inspiration from the short-lived Mini Coupe (R58) which remained in production between 2011 and 2015, as a two-door and two-seater coupe version of the second-gen Mini Hatch (R56) alongside the closely-related Mini Roadster (R59).

While most people tend to forget that a Mini Coupe even existed, an Indonesian automotive enthusiast wanted one so badly they were willing to sacrifice their Suzuki Swift for the cause.

The only visible carry-over exterior parts from the donor vehicle appear to be the front windshield, A and B pillars, doors, and mirrors. The rest of the bodywork has been redesigned, adopting Mini styling cues.

The front end features round headlights, alongside a custom grille, bumper and hood. Unfortunately, the model doesn’t get all of the signature traits, missing out on the hood scoop of the Cooper S, the chrome headlight garnish, and the plastic cladding around the wheel arches. Still, the side skirts and the white alloy wheels contribute to a sporty stance.

To achieve the distinctive silhouette of the Mini Coupe, the builder cut the rear portion of the roof, adding a sloping rear glass and a fixed rear wing. The tail has been completely redesigned with Mini-style taillights featuring Union Jack graphics, a sporty rear bumper with a diffuser and a custom tailgate. What is interesting is the presence of “Swift Sport” decals, revealing the true nature of the build.

Moving inside, the Suzuki origins remain clear although the seats and door cards have been retrimmed with leatherette upholstery and diamond-quilted inserts. The factory dashboard and the Suzuki steering wheel remain unchanged. In a comical mix of automotive branding, the floor mats feature Toyota Racing Development (TRD) lettering.

According to the listing, the base car is a 2011 model (ZC21S generation). Since there is no word on any performance upgrades, the Swift is likely fitted with the stock naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine, paired to a CVT automatic. This is no match for the JCW-tuned turbo 1.6-liter engine of the flagship Mini Coupe, but it will do the job in urban traffic.

The model is located in the Sewon region of Indonesia and is offered for sale with an asking price of IDR 129,000,000 ($7,200). The seller states that all electrical systems are functional, the engine is leak-free and the interior is clean.
