Two Toronto residents are facing a murder charge after a man was slain in Vaughan over a year ago.

York Regional Police said that on Aug. 27, 2025, officers were called to a commercial property in the Langstaff Rd.-Jane St. area following a report of an injured person. Officers found a man inside a unit with obvious signs of trauma and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said investigators determined that the man was killed a day earlier. He was later identified as Deuvane Donald Francis, of Toronto.

Investigators eventually identified two suspects, whom they arrested on Sept. 22 and 23.

Police said a search warrant was executed at a home in the Niagara Region, where officers seized nine firearms, ammunition, over 900 g of cocaine, over 200 g of ketamine and over 20 g of methamphetamine.

Daniel Fearon, 40, and Sherrie Donovan, 41, have both been charged with first-degree murder. Fearon is also facing several drug and firearm-related charges.

Police said at least two more suspects remain outstanding.

Suspect sought after Hamilton robberies

Hamilton Police are looking for a man allegedly responsible for a series of business robberies in the city earlier this month.

Police said the man targeted four businesses between Sept. 6 and Sept. 25.

Three of the robberies allegedly happened in the Barton St. E.-Kenilworth Ave. N. area, while another was at a business on Upper Ottawa St. in the Hamilton Mountain area. Police said the robberies occurred on Sept. 6 at about 8:15 p.m., Sept. 17 at about 11:25 p.m., Sept. 18 at about 2:40 p.m. and Sept. 25 at about 8:05 p.m.

Police said they believe the same suspect is responsible for the robberies.

In all four incidents, cops said the suspect entered a business and demanded money from staff. In at least one incident, the suspect allegedly threatened staff with what was believed to be a firearm.

The suspect fled on foot before police arrived.

Cops released two photos of the suspect, showing him wearing a black baseball hat, a dark-coloured hoodie, grey pants with a black stripe near the pockets and black shoes with white soles.

Woman charged after theft at Queen’s Park: OPP

A 36-year-old Toronto woman is facing charges after an incident at Queen’s Park earlier this month.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Sept. 3 at about 8 a.m., officers at its Queen’s Park detachment responded to a report of suspicious activity at a government office.

Police said Helene Sharpe was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and breaking and entering.
