A 40-year-old woman is wanted following a dog attack at a downtown park on Thursday that left a pet owner and their pooch injured.
Toronto Police said officers responded to an animal complaint Saturday in the Avenue Rd. and Roxborough St. area, north of Davenport Rd.
It is alleged that, on Thursday, the suspect had two dogs in an off-leash enclosed area of a nearby park while the victim was walking their leashed dog near the off-leash enclosure.
Escaped off-leash enclosure
According to police, the suspect’s two dogs escaped the enclosure, and charged and attacked the victim and the victim’s dog.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries while their pet suffered life-threatening injuries, cops said.
Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and released images of her on Saturday.

Tanychia Black, of Toronto, is wanted for criminal negligence causing bodily harm as well as two counts each of the Dog Owners’ Liability Act offences of failing to prevent a dog from biting or attacking and dog biting a person or domestic animal.
The suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-10 with a heavy build. Investigators say she was last seen wearing a navy-blue hair bonnet, mustard-coloured hoodie, light-coloured pants, and dark shoes with white soles.

Either pit bull or bull terrier breed
The dogs are described as possibly dark grey or grey in colour, one with a white chest. Both are described as being a large breed of pit bull or bull terrier.
