The Triple-i Initiative’s first-ever fall showcase brought release dates, new game reveals and demos, according to Polygon’s October 8 roundup. Among Us Story: On Guard arrives February 17, 2027, while The Escapists 3 is headed to consoles and PC in 2027; Astral Ascent also got a crossover update that is available now.

While AAA games tend to dominate Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards, the Triple-i Initiative gives indie and solo developers a dedicated showcase. Its April stream featured reveals including Temtem: Pioneers, Prove You’re Human and Graveyard Keeper 2, and the October edition packed in more games, dates and playable demos.

Notable reveals, updates and demos

Astral Ascent has added characters from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in a free update available now. Dave the Diver will get its final DLC in early 2027, crossing over with Subnautica 2, while co-op adventure Hela: of Mice & Magic has a Steam demo; its full game will support online multiplayer for up to four players.

ReVamp, a castle-defense roguelike from the studio behind Moonlighter, launches on Windows PC on March 25, 2027, and its first playtest is live. Escape the Backrooms gets new skins in October ahead of its December After Party Update. Strange Scaffold announced Gods with Badges, a tactics game about the power dynamics and institutional incentives of law enforcement.

Rockbeasts has a demo out now and is due in January 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Matthew Mercer and Sam Riegel join the cast of the music RPG. Lazare’s Sacrifice, a French Revolution-set deckbuilder developed by Dream Reality Interactive in partnership with The Witcher 3 Gwent designer Damien Monnier, is planned for spring 2027. Outward 2 enters early access on February 8, 2027.

The wider lineup included the survival ARPG Aftergods, the Brotato: Primal Dread DLC, co-op shooter Canyons, and new content for Chained Together. Other announcements ranged from horror games Dandelion Void, Living Hell and Jiaohun to Machinarium 2, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, The Talos Principle 3 and the newly announced Volatiles. Demos or playtests were also announced for several games, including False Echo, Haunted Paws, Militsioner, Prospice: Anomalous Logistics and Wyldheart.

Sulfur reaches version 1.0 on October 28, with a console release alongside it. The showcase also announced numerous demos and playtests as available at the time of Polygon’s report, so check each game’s store listing for platform-specific access.
