Nigerian troops under Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully rescued 10 civilians abducted by armed terrorists in Katsina State.

The victims, taken from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area, were freed after troops deployed around the Sabuwa axis received intelligence on the abduction.

Acting swiftly, the soldiers intercepted the terrorists and pursued them until they abandoned the captives and fled.

According to the military, the rescued individuals include three adult males, six females, and an infant.

They have since been taken to safety and will be handed over to Sabuwa Local Government authorities for medical checks and reunification with their families.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities and secure abducted civilians across the North-West region.
