Naomi Baker stars as Anika, a single mother struggling to provide for herself and her child, while Jay Reeves plays Carousel, a former inmate trying to rebuild his life after prison. Their relationship develops after an earlier encounter brings them into each other’s orbit, with both characters finding support and a possible new beginning through their connection.
The film’s trailer gives viewers a closer look at the circumstances that first connected the central characters. It opens with Anika at Holloway Correctional while she is pregnant. When a riot breaks out inside the facility, Carousel steps in and helps keep her and her baby out of harm’s way. Their story then moves forward to the period after Carousel leaves prison, when the pair reconnect.
Tamberla Perry, Karen Obilom, Jasmine Sargent, Lucky Johnson, and Danielle Moné Truitt also star in the film.
