This 1974 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 was modified to Vantage bolted flip-tail specification during a refurbishment completed by Autosport Designs in 2025. It is powered by a large-bore 5.7-liter V8 paired with a Richmond six-speed manual gearbox and is finished in Cambridge Blue over black leather. Equipment includes a factory front air dam, a bolted fliptail rear spoiler, factory Perspex headlamp covers, 15″ GKN Kent alloy wheels, a Harvey Bailey handling package, a custom-installed updated aftermarket stereo system, and power windows. Acquired by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, in 2026, this modified Aston is now offered in New York with a Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and a Montana title.
The car is finished in Cambridge Blue and underwent a Vantage-specification bodywork conversion in 2025. Modifications include a front blanking plate, a front air dam, a European-style rear aluminum body panel, a three-piece bolted fliptail rear spoiler, late-style fender-vent finishers, and Perspex headlamp covers. Additional exterior details include an aluminum hood with a fiberglass bonnet plug, a front blanking plate in place of the factory mesh grille, custom-mounted “Oscar” driving lights, twin round headlights, fender-mounted signal repeaters, a power antenna, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Paintwork was performed during the bodywork conversion, and paint protection film and an XPEL V2 ceramic coating were applied in June 2025. The trunk latch and support springs were repaired in 2025.
The 15″ painted GKN Kent alloy wheels are mounted with 255/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The car is equipped with a Harvey Bailey handling package, and the suspension was overhauled in 2025 with uprated springs, a replacement front sway bar, control arms, and bushings, as well as a rear telescopic shock absorber conversion. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. Both brake boosters were replaced in 2025, the system was bled, and the front brake rotors were replaced.
The front bucket seats and individual rear seating areas are upholstered in black leather that extends to the center console and door panels. Appointments include power windows, a heater, and a custom audio system with Rockford Fosgate woofers, JL Audio speakers, and an ARC Audio X2 amplifier.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 320-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The tachometer and fuel gauge were repaired in 2025, and the fuel-level sending unit was replaced. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 5k kilometers (~3k miles).
The factory 5.3-liter V8 was rebuilt to 5.7-liter specification by Autosport Designs in 2025. The engine block was machined and bored, and the cylinder heads received custom oversized valve seats. Additional components installed during the build include 540 Vantage-specification camshafts, high-performance pistons, an uprated valve-spring set, replacement intake and exhaust valve guides, and replacement timing chains, tensioners, and rubbing strips. The water pump was rebuilt, and the oil pump, thermostat, spark plugs, and engine mounts were replaced.
The engine stamping V/540/1221/EE matches the number listed on the Heritage certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Richmond six-speed manual transmission, which was installed alongside the rebuilt engine in 2025.
The Aston Martin Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of July 19, 1974, as well as factory colors, original Weber carburettors, and delivery to Grand Touring Automobiles in Canada.
