Mikey Varas has urged San Diego FC to keep pushing as they look to continue building positive momentum against the LA Galaxy in MLS.
After their three-game unbeaten streak ended with a 3-1 loss to the Portland Timbers, San Diego bounced back with a commanding 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids.
It is a win that keeps San Diego within touching distance of the playoff places, as they sit 11th in the Western Conference on 27 points, one point behind the teams between seventh and 10th.
But Varas is not ready to rest on his laurels, as he urged his team to keep the pressure on the teams above them in the table.
"It was a great team win," Varas said of the victory over Colorado.
"It starts from a foundation of everybody committed to running hard, to tackling, to pressing, to making big recovery runs because we play against a very good team defending low like warriors, and all of that is the foundation.
"When we do that with all the guys committed to it, and we do it at a high level, then the football comes from there because that was a very good Colorado team that we just played.
"We have to keep pushing. This is something that we enjoy, but you can never take the points for granted at first-team level, but we've got to keep pushing because we've got a mission to get on with."
The Galaxy, meanwhile, are one further point back in 12th, with head coach Greg Vanney coming under increasing pressure after just one win in their last eight matches.
That win came against the San Jose Earthquakes (1-0), but they have since drawn 2-2 with CF Montreal, giving up a late lead.

San Diego FC – Onni Valakari
Onni Valakari scored for San Diego on Saturday, and 53 of the club's 101 all-time regular-season goals have been scored by players from Scandinavian nations (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden).
The only other MLS side with as many league goals scored by Scandinavian players is the Galaxy (74, led by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's 52).
LA Galaxy – Maya Yoshida
Maya Yoshida scored the seventh MLS goal of his career on Saturday, but it was his first not scored via a header.
All four of Yoshida's goals over the last two seasons have come on the road.
MATCH PREDICTION: SAN DIEGO FC WIN
This will be the first meeting between San Diego and LA Galaxy in 2026.
San Diego won both meetings with the Galaxy last season, posting a 2-0 road win and a 2-1 home win. San Diego won each of their first three regular-season meetings with two teams: FC Dallas and Los Angeles FC.
They also secured a 3-0 home victory over Colorado, making it four straight wins on the bounce at Snapdragon Stadium. That is tied for the longest home winning streak in San Diego's two seasons as the team won their first four home matches of 2026.
The Galaxy have earned 13 points this regular season at home (W3 D4 L4) and on the road (W3 D4 L3), making them one of six MLS teams this season with as many points on the road as at home.
They have finished with the same or more points on the road as at home three times (1998, 2010, 2017).
