Floods are always one of our biggest fears during the monsoon season. Commuters and motorists alike are at the mercy of the heavy downpours at this time of the year, and unless you have something that’s flood-proof to help you get from point A to point B safely, you’re just as screwed as everyone else.

It appears, however, that this is also something that VinFast E-Motorcycles Philippines wants to address with its electrified scooters. The Vietnamese brand has shared that its e-motorcycles’ powertrains are IP67-rated, or in other words, flood-ready.

All three models—the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper—have IP67-rated electric motors and MCUs. VinFast claims that its internal testing showed the two-wheelers can withstand submersion or driving through waters of up to 0.5 meters deep for 30 minutes.

Half a meter is no cinch, and it’s a strong selling point for these Vietnamese electric scooters. That, in addition to the competitive pricing, expected savings, and (planned) massive battery-swapping network, of course.

VinFast also shared that it simulated other ‘demanding environmental conditions’ to test its e-motorcycles, including a ‘500-hour salt spray test’ to check for corrosion resistance. The batteries themselves have also supposedly passed internal durability tests at temperatures of up to 80 degrees Celsius.

Riders, what do you think? Would you consider VinFast’s e-motorcycles, knowing they’re more flood-proof than most? Tell us in the comments.
