When the news dropped in April 2025 that Vivienne Medrano's adult animated musical series Helluva Boss would join its companion series Hazbin Hotel on Prime Video, Amazon released a video promising a few specific things. Medrano's animation studio Spindlehorse would retain full creative control. New Helluva Boss episodes would eventually be released free on YouTube, alongside the show's previous two seasons. And for the first time, the two shows would cross over in some way, apart from being set in the same shared universe.
