France witnessed a violent weekend as protests over rising living costs and underfunded public services escalated into riots and looting. Burning e-bikes, torched vehicles and smoke-filled streets marked the unrest in Paris and other cities. Hundreds of shared bikes and scooters were damaged, causing an estimated €400,000 in losses to one operator. Authorities arrested around 2,400 people and are tightening security to prevent further violence.
