Ice Cube and Kevin Hart‘s popular comedies Ride Along and Ride Along 2 will be leaving Netflix soon. The movies were released in theaters in January 2014 and 2016, respectively. Although critics largely panned both films, they were box-office hits.

Beyond the star power of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, the casts of the two movies include Olivia Munn, Tika Sumpter, John Leguizamo, Ken Jeong, Bruce McGill, Glen Powell, and many more. Tim Story directed both movies, and they were huge financial successes.
Ride Along had a reported budget of $25 million and opened with $41 million at the box office. Domestically, the movie made just under $135 million, while its international collections amounted to over $19 million. This took the movie’s total collection to over $154 million (via Box Office Mojo). On the other hand, Ride Along 2 was reportedly made on a budget of $40 million. The movie had an opening collection of $35 million and collected over $91 million at the domestic box office. Its collection in the international market was over $33 million, bringing its lifetime gross to over $124 million.
Neither Ride Along nor Ride Along 2 received good reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, Ride Along holds a score of 17 percent on the Tomatometer based on reviews from critics. However, it has received a much higher score of 58 percent on the Popcornmeter based on audience reviews.
Ride Along 2’s score on the Tomatometer stands at 15 percent. It got 48 percent from the audiences on the Popcornmeter. It was reported in April this year that the franchise now has a third entry in development.
