Philadelphia Eagles fans are finally starting to see just why Howie Roseman selected wide receiver Makai Lemon in the first round.

It has not been a straightforward offseason for the wide receiver out of USC, having suffered a hamstring injury earlier in camp.

The addition of Lemon came amid the departure of A.J. Brown, who finally left the Eagles in a significant trade to join the New England Patriots.

Although Brown had seen some regression in his stats over the last two seasons, he is still a big-time player who needed replacing in Philly.

DeVonta Smith will naturally be WR1 this season, but a lot of expectation will be placed on Lemon after the Eagles used their 20 overall pick on him earlier this year.

As footage emerges from camp, fans are finally starting to see exactly why the Eagles drafted him.

Lemon was the third receiver off the board. Only Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson were selected ahead of the 22-year-old.

He will be required to make an instant impact in Philly, but his turbulent offseason may have worried some fans ahead of their opening game against the Washington Commanders.

However, footage of Lemon’s incredible footwork from the Eagles’ facility has restored some confidence.

‘That look like Smitty footwork,’ said one fan on X comparing Lemon to Smith.

Another Eagles fan thought exactly the same: ‘Wait, he look like Smitty’.

In his final season for the Trojans, Lemon was able to rack up over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns in the 12 games he played.

‘Those quick feet are insane,’ replied another Eagles fan.

After a lot of injury frustration, one fan said: ‘Finally some good news for once this season’.

Keeping Lemon fit is going to be hugely important for Nick Sirianni, with Lemon expected to slot in as WR3 behind Smith and Dontayvion Wicks.

Expecting a big season out of the rookie, another fan was clearly growing in excitement: ‘Y’all in trouble now’.

One fan very simply said: ‘We are so back’.
