Barcelona star Pedri has dismissed suggestions that he’s not compatible with Rodri after Sunday’s 5-0 win over Valencia.
The two Spain stars started the game at Mestalla and were part of a brilliant Barcelona performance that delivered a fourth straight La Liga win.
Pedri was asked for his thoughts afterwards and made it clear he’s enjoying playing with Rodri at Barca.
“It has been said that we don’t work together, but it’s very comfortable playing with Rodri,” he told Movistar.
“He hardly ever loses the ball and that helps a lot in defence. We’re going to have a good understanding that will get even better with more and more games.”
Pedri was also asked about Barcelona’s attack after a game where the team hit five despite not playing with a recognised striker.
“People always want a striker that scores 40 goals a season, but we have a lot of players that can do that work,” he said.
“We have a lot of players who will get in those positions to score goals — we have Raphinha, Lamine, [Anthony] Gordon, Gabriel Jesus, [Karim] Adeyemi… We won’t lack goals this season.”
The win means Barcelona are now three points clear at the top of the table and have scored an impressive 17 goals in four games.
