WEATHER: Hot conditions expected as showers and thunderstorms develop

Here is what the weather has in store for KZN, Free State and North West on Wednesday 2 September 2026.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Fine to partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions will persist, becoming very hot in the north-east. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the south-west.

Winds along the coast will be light to moderate from the north to north-east, becoming fresh in the north at times. The winds will then turn light to moderate southerly to south-westerly from the south.

The UVB sunburn index is going to be high.

DURBAN

Durban is going to be fine to partly cloudy. The wind will light northerly to north-westerly, becoming southerly to south-westerly

Temperatures will range from 19°C to 24°C.

Fine becoming partly cloudy and warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is going to be fine becoming partly cloudy.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 8°C to a maximum of 27°C.

NORTH WEST

North West is going to be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy in the west

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng is going to be fine.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 11°C. to a maximum of 29°C.
