Weather: Two provinces brace for showers and thundershowers

Here is what the weather has in store for KZN, Free State and North West on Friday 11 September 2026.

KWAZULU-NATAL

Partly cloudy and cool to warm, becoming cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and rain, except in the north-west.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly north of Durban, but moderate to fresh south-westerly in the south towards afternoon.

The UVB sunburn index is going to be low.

DURBAN

Durban is going to be partly cloudy becoming cloudy with isolated showers and rain from the afternoon.

The wind will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming light to moderate south-easterly to easterly by late afternoon.

Temperatures will range from 18°C to 24°C.

The UVB sunburn index is going to be low.

FREE STATE

Fine and cool to warm becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the extreme south.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein is going to be fine, becoming partly cloudy in afternoon.

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 9°C to a maximum of 25°C.

NORTH WEST

North West province should be fine and warm.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng is going to be fine

Temperatures will range from a minimum of 11°C. to a maximum of 26°C.
