Kaizer Chiefs’ newest signing, Faiz Abrahams has revealed what happened before he scored the freekick against Siwelele on Sunday.
Amakhosi won 3-2 at the Dobsonville Stadium and Abrahams was one of the scorers after a sublime freekick.
Leading 2-1, Chiefs were awarded a free kick in the 76th minute deep inside Siwelele territory, roughly midway between the left touchline and the penalty area. The new Amakhosi man lined up to take it and it seem he was going to cross it but went for goal.
“When I went to take the free kick, (Wandile) Duba told me not to cross the ball for anyone but to try and score,” Abrahams was quoted on Kaizer Chiefs website.
“It felt great because I have been working very hard,” he added
“I’m just going to keep working hard and giving my all in training. I aim to stay consistent and always keep my performance levels up.”
Kaizer Chiefs enjoying a good start to the seasonAfter impressing this past weekend, Abrahams will look to maintain the same performance as Chiefs travel to Polokwane City on Saturday
“The coach will set a plan for this weekend, and we will go out and execute it,” he said.
The Betway Premiership encounter between Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 15:00 on Saturday, 12 September, at the old Peter Mokaba stadium. A win for the Glamour Boys will see them jump into second place on the log ahead of rivals Orlando Pirates.
