In your expert view, what are some architectural styles that are usually pretty qualitative and well designed and yet would often not be too popular with the general public?
Browsing for our next place to live in Brussels and I am always surprised by people's reactions. Last week I showed a modernist villa to a colleague which I thought was very interesting and the reaction was just "uhhh, you find that nice?". And they would prefer more recent functional buildings.
Pictured is another example of a modernist building. I may have dismissed it as ugly and boring myself if I walked past it some years ago, but now doing some research and seeing how it was built I find it much more interesting (1935, by a relatively famous architect too).
