Hi all. Just getting into android development in university and would like to vent. Why is android development feel so fragmented? There are text buttons which arent the same as buttons with text. It doesnt follow basic MVC. Using jetbrains compose, much of the system superloop and triggers are under the hood requiring various specially duplicated variable classes to cooperate with jetpack, which casting between classes to operate in and out of jetbrains is one of many headaches. Coroutines another headach becomes necessary to exit jetbrains function scope while coded within the method. Jiving group code is an existential nightmare, resulting in the philosophical questions of why I even want to be doing this.
Whats honestly going on in android? Why does its development enviriment feel so discombobulated? Its like they rushed development for a showcase and that became the product we're working with today only to transfer their frustration into the life of every dev out there. Im sure im only skimming the surface. What are your gripes? Does it get better or worse? Is there a better way?
