Woman takes a chance on a cat labeled "aggressive" that the shelter wanted to put down, only to find a terrified cat who spent her first days home just hiding, needing nothing but time and love to blossom.

There's no such thing as a "mean cat", just a cat to whom life has been mean.

This is something we honestly think some shelters should take into account. Don't get us wrong, most animal shelters are working with pure dedication and love for animals, trying their best on all fronts. We really appreciate shelter workers and volunteers who give their time to make sure every animal will be adopted to their forever home. But some shelters are really quick on the trigger when it comes to labeling cats as aggressive, when in fact they're not at all.

The thing is - most "aggressive" cats are really just scared. And some shelters that they end up in are not really contributing to alleviating this pain, caused by the fear and confusion the cat experiences. Some cats literally fear shelter workers, but once they reach their forever home - their entire demeanor changes as well. And that's so wholesome to witness.

But with the right guidance, some extra love and care, and a lot of affection, every former feral can flourish and embrace the comfort of being a house prince or princess. And this one cat here is no different.
