Joanna Yakubu, partner of flight lieutenant I.S. Bako, has taken to social media to mourn the co-pilot, who was among 25 Nigerian Air Force personnel killed when a NAF aircraft crashed into the swamps of Igbokoda in Ondo state.
In an emotional TikTok post, Joanna revealed their final exchange. She said Bako had told her he was travelling to Abuja without any indication that it would be his last.

The aircraft had five crew members and 20 passengers on board. No survivors were found.
The NAF on Tuesday released the names of the personnel killed in the crash.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ehimen Ejodame, director of public relations and information at NAF, said Sunday Aneke, chief of air staff (CAS), described the incident as a deeply painful moment for the air force and the nation.
Ejodame said the aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when the accident occurred.
President Bola Tinubu also declared three days of national mourning for the personnel who died in the crash.
“This is a painful moment for our Armed Forces and for the entire nation,” Tinubu said in a condolence message to the chief of air staff and officers, airmen and airwomen of the air force.
