They are one and the same for parents. The usual bedtime routine can be baths for the kids, a bedtime story, some cuddle time, and a kiss on the head before shutting off the lights and leaving the little angels to snore. And then what? That's when it's time for the parents. The possibilities are endless! You could have some fun pillow talk, you could get some chores done, you could get a babysitter and go out, heck, you could even go to bed early and get some extra honk shoos in. Unfortunately, that is not what tends to happen for most parents these days… These days, you put the kids, and then it is lay-down-and-doom-scroll-next-to-each-other-for-hours time. At least your feet are touching, and you're still sending each other memes even though you are right next to each other. That proves you still care about each other.
And what is so wrong about that? Parents gotta do what they gotta do to stay sane and be the best parents they can be. If that means doomscrolling next to each other after putting the kids to bed, then so be it! Memes can truly be exactly what you need after a hard day of parenting. My mom used to put me to bed by blasting the Spice Girls. I used to think it was because I liked the Spice Girls, but looking back on those memories, I'm starting to think that my mom needed that just as much as me.
